Appointed in early 2021, Dan arrived at Retrac with a track record of building high performing teams to deliver high-tech products in short timeframes.
After two decades in Automotive and Motorsport sectors, in 2020 Dan was a co-ordinating lynchpin for the Ventilator Challenge UK Consortium as part of the Cabinet Office response to Covid-19, leading multi-site production activities for Airbus, Ford, Siemens, McLaren, Penlon and GKN Automotive.
Prior to this, as Motorsport Director for McLaren Automotive from 2016-20, Dan developed the business division from a start-up to £25m turnover in 3 years.
Andy is the son of Retrac Group founder John Carter and having worked for BMW in Munich, Andy joined Retrac in 1987 in sales and project management.
In 1998, Andy led the expansion of Retrac into the Composites sector, before eventually becoming Manager Director of the Group. His vision for continuous improvement saw Retrac become established as a premier supplier in Formula 1.
The architect of the Employee Trust ownership mechanism in 2021, Andy has stepped into the role as Chairman of the Group to work alongside Dan to lead the business into its sixth decade.
